According to Larry Karel, president of the nearly 60 year old trade show management company, Karel Exposition Management, all indications point to an excellent order writing show and upcoming season.
Karel attributes this to many factors.
First, with the improving housing market, people are moving into a home and need furniture and accessories.
Next, inventories are low and the price range at the Edison Market is one that is affordable to the vast majority of those coming to re-stock and offer new products.
Lastly, technology is ever changing in bedding. The retailers have to offer their customers the very latest and address their needs. This is one of the reasons why bedding does well at a KEM event, especially in Edison.
“Pre-registration requests are ahead for the summer event, which is always a good sign” says Karel. “Buyers will have nearly 130,000 square feet of exhibit space, jammed packed with merchandise from new companies and their old favorites.
Several companies who have taken a pass for the last few shows have returned such as Poundex, Chintaly and Intermaster will be showcasing their merchandise along with many others to buyers from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Shortly after the Edison Market, Karel will present the 1st Virginia Furniture & Accessory Market, being held at the Fredericksburg Expo Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, September 9-10, 2012. This market will deliver buyers from the Mid-Atlantic region, including Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, DC, parts of Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
With everyone watching their dollars spent, a KEM show enables buyers who no longer travel far an opportunity to shop a market for less than a tank of gas.
